Twenty-Five
Rather than combine my posts for yesterday and today (and therefore have to end on the sour WTF?! note that was this evening), I’ll save today for tomorrow. So here was yesterday, my 25th birthday…
I slept in, then started out the day with some Liberte apple crumble yogurt. Soooo good. So sad it’s my last one.
Yes, my fingernails are purple again…and my toenails are blue (although also a different shade of purple in the right light).
And thanks to my sudden fear of exercising and my feeling sorry for myself while I was doing the whole cardiologist thing, my weight is now at 154.8 lbs. Actually, this is down from where it was a couple of weeks ago. I could blame it on my blood pressure medication, which has been known to cause people to gain weight, but you know what? That’s a cop-out. This was all me, or at least almost entirely me. (When I go to the doctor now my weight is over 160 lbs, and I am determined to get it back down before my next appointment on June 11.)
Also, there has been very little exercising the past two days, and even on Friday, when I rode my bike for two hours, I still didn’t meet my calorie burn for the day (which is 2550 calories). Yesterday I didn’t even get above 1800. Oh well. That’s what birthdays are for…
I went to my brother’s house, where we had hamburgers (I had mine on lettuce, ’cause you know I don’t like bread), baked beans, and potato salad (2x).
And then for my birthday cake we had angel food cake covered with strawberries and whipped cream that I my mom made. (She didn’t want me to stir it at all for fear that I would post on my blog that I’d had to make my own whipped cream, but when she went to cut the strawberries I grabbed the bowl and continued whipping it until I could hold the bowl upside down, ’cause that’s awesome.) The cake was also supposed to be homemade, but there was some cake-fail the previous evening so it ended up being store-bought. But it was all good.
After lunch I opened my presents, which included some money from my parents and the following items from my brother and sister-in-law, who left for their anniversary cruise yesterday afternoon and said they wanted to see pictures of me using my gifts when they got back.
The above baking dishes are tiny…they could fit in the palm of my hand!
And also these cute cups…
…which are actually measuring cups (1, 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 of a cup, to be exact). Supreme cuteness.
For dinner, I took a bowl of potato salad back home and also reheated a piece of Dijon chicken past the point I should have, which left it all tough and gross, so I only ate half (which I probably would’ve done anyway).
I also had to take the cake, strawberries, and the whipped cream I my mom made home, so I had some for dessert.
And later in the evening I was still hungry, so I snacked on the rest of my smoked salmon.
Soooo good. I don’t care if they’re the scrap pieces; they’re sooo much better than buying it packaged.
I am now going to attempt to take a short walk, because after what happened a little while ago I need to get out my apartment and into some fresh air for a while. That’s a story for another day (tomorrow, in fact)…
