I’m Not Running from You…

eating running

By the looks of my training schedule in Google Calendar, I’m supposed to be finishing up Week 2 of One Hour Runner tomorrow. That’s not happening–I’ve only run once since my 5K on the first!

I plan to be back running again on Monday though, after giving my shoulder another day to rest. It feels much better, but every now and then there’s still a twinge. If I didn’t know where the lower  injection site was I wouldn’t be able to tell where it had been, but the upper injection site is a little red. I think it’s just a skin reaction, but I’m keeping an eye on it just in case. Also, when I was at my appointment the PA told me I was guarding my shoulder and I can tell that I’m still doing that sometimes.

I did make myself a new 30-minute audio track for my runs, though! I just threw in a bunch of fast/kinda fast songs. Here’s the list:

The Used: Taste of Ink
30 Seconds to Mars: The Kill (Bury Me)
The Offspring: The Kids Aren’t Alright
Plain White T’s: What If
Blink 182: All the Small Things
Lost Prophets: Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)
Paramore: crushcrushcrush
Papa Roach: Scars
Better Than Ezra: Untitled (This is slooow, but short–I had thirty seconds or so to fill!)
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus: Seventeen Ain’t So Sweet

I think 30 Seconds to Mars’ The Kill (Bury Me) has the distinction of being the only song on this half-hour track with a running-related lyric (You say you wanted more/What are you waiting for?/I’m not running from you…).

I decided to end my evening by making a run to Cook-Out for a mint Oreo milkshake and a BLT. Sort of a last meal before I go back to clean(er) eating and running. I’ve been using my shoulder as an excuse  to eat poorly these past two weeks and while I haven’t gained any weight (probably  since I haven’t been eating potatoes, my favorite comfort food), I haven’t lost any, either. And I can tell I haven’t been eating as well–especially after I ordered pizza Thursday (didn’t feel like cooking). Whenever I order pizza for dinner I end up really, really thirsty, and it’s been like that for two days since I had leftover pizza for dinner last night. And after my late-night snack tonight I have  a feeling I’m going to be craving fresh stuff again. Gonna have to head out to the store tomorrow…

By the way, it’s been 15 days without potatoes!
