I’m in the business of misery…
I love my Pandora station–I’ve spent years crafting it to perfection. And while occasionally it will have a tantrum and play six songs in a row by bands I’ve never heard of, most of the time it gets it right. It’s even good about playing songs by the same band fairly close together–it’s playing Misery Business by Paramore within six songs of playing Fences. And it’s a cool way to find music you never knew you liked–who knew I was a fan of Weezer? How would I have found the awesomeness that is Cartel without Pandora?
I had a nice time last night just chilling in the armchair in my bedroom, listening to music and reading Winning by Losing by Jillian Michaels. Unfortunately, you’ll see I largely ignored her advice while eating today. I can’t be separated from my potatoes!
I slept in because I didn’t sleep well the night before. Wasn’t in the mood for eating when I woke up, so I just had this Cherry Cashew Pure bar.
Then I messed around on the computer, and cleaned a little, and then I took a nap. Because my nap yesterday didn’t work out and I like to try to get in at least one afternoon nap with my dog on three-day weekends.
When I woke up I prepped dinner, then munched on a maple leaf cookie.
Dinner was full of carbs, just like Jillian Michaels said not to do. Potatoes, onions, and carrots, mixed with some tomato paste and water and then baked for about 45 minutes.
Of course this was good; how could it be bad? I will say that I used to eat potatoes pretty much every night with dinner and I’ve gotten away from that to some extent–I still eat them more than I should, but I don’t buy enough to eat them every night. They are delicious and I don’t care if they have a high glycemic load…
After dinner I had one of those delicious pieces of English toffee from Trader Joe’s.
They had soooo much English toffee at Trader Joe’s…giant tins of it…must resist…
And just now I had two more maple cookies, and that’s all I’ve had to eat today. My meals always suffer away from the structure of the workweek…
