September
I’m sure I’m not the only one today who realized it was September 11 and took pause. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that day in 2001, nor should I.
September 11, 2009, however, was not an altogether bad day. Sure, there was more ISO auditor training–in the form of conducting an audit–but I think I did a good job and it was a nice confidence boost to realize that I actually did know what I was doing. I’m glad there was no more lecturing today, though, because I’ve had the training previously and it was making me crazy.
I ate a Chobani 0% Strawberry Greek Yogurt while the training was starting up. A little while later, a coworker brought us donuts from Dunkin Donuts.
I snagged a maple-frosted donut that for some reason had orange sprinkles down one side. It was yummy. And I’ve had crazy fun with my new camera today. It takes such crisp pictures!
After a couple hours of auditing, I snuck back upstairs for another donut.
This is why I am fat. I have no idea what kind of donut this was–it was cinnamony and nutmeg but not pumpkin-spicy like I thought it would be.
Again, I needed to escape the office for lunch, so a few coworkers and I hopped in a car and headed over to Baja Burrito. I ordered a black bean and brown rice taco.
With a little salt, it was perfect.
I opted for some Hi-C Pink Lemonade for my beverage. I know I should have gotten water because I’ve been bad about drinking it this week, but I’m stressed and I wanted some lemonade, darnit!
After a couple of more hours of auditor training madness, we were finally free! I bolted to the convenience store on campus to grab a drink and something made of chocolate to celebrate.
A Whatchamacallit hit the spot. I had half then, and the other half went down the hatch when it was closer to time to leave work.
I also had this dark chocolate chunk and almond cookie, which tasted as delicious as it looked. I’m shocked there are still any in the container on my desk at work.
When I got home, I knew I had to make Hot Crash Potatoes for dinner. I’d been craving them for days. They take a while to make, so while they were in the oven I made myself a little salad of romaine, blue cheese, evil bacon bits, and cranberry, walnut, and gorgonzola dressing.
I had the George Foreman Grill going, too–grilling up some chicken thighs with Penzey’s Ozark seasoning. While everything was cooking, I tried to perk up some fruit salad from the fridge.
As you can see, my perking mainly consisted of adding a new dollop of Greek yogurt.
The main course was delicious, of course. How can you go wrong with grilled chicken and potatoes?
I felt the Hot Crash Potatoes deserved a close-up in honor of their deliciousness.
I went back for the other two potatoes and another chicken thigh after this plate. It was alllll gooood.
We’ll finish out with a picture I took of the forlorn Heath last night. He saw me reach for my camera and he bolted into his kennel. When I called him back out, he reluctantly laid down and let me snap a few pictures of him. He’s making this face in all of them.
I swear, I just vacuumed my floor!
It’s only 9PM on a Friday night, but I’m getting ready to head to bed–I’m tired and tomorrow’s BugFest. Gotta get ready to eat some bugs!
